Heinecke was a former lacrosse player who finally locked down a starting role in 2025 and earned second team All SEC honors. Heinecke plays like a rabid hyena on the field. He never takes a play off, rallying to the ball and hitting ball carriers with veracity. He shows good mirror coverage abilities in man for a linebacker. He is an ace on special teams which coaches are going to love. Heinecke is quite undersized for a linebacker and he doesn’t have the athletic traits to make up for it. He gets washed out too often but blockers who are bigger than him. He is still new to football and is a tick slow when diagnosing plays and he doesn’t have the traits to catch up when he is behind. Heinecke is a good energy guy who is going to make his hay on special teams if he’s gonna stick in this league.
